Break-out 1: New approaches to community mobilisation

This session turns the spotlight on innovative approaches to engaging the community in climate emergency action of all kinds. It will be facilitated by Katerina Gaita, community builder and organiser.
Room D200
This session will explore what full climate emergency mobilisation could look like at the local government level, how to get into climate emergency mode, and the practicalities of governing in the climate emergency. It will be facilitated by Adrian Whitehead, Council and Community Action in the Climate Emergency.
Room C203
This session will explore several aspects of the climate emergency that are reaching crisis point: extreme weather events, food security, and insurance. It will be facilitated by Emma Dovers of Ricardo.
Break-out 4: Decolonising our partnerships

This session highlights some recent practical examples of councils building relationships with Traditional Owners, and how these partnerships and projects can help to shift the way we work alongside First Nations.

This session dives into different methods of cooling and greening our cities and towns, and nature-based drawdown through (re)vegetation and biochar projects. It will be facilitated by Lia De Gruchy, Maribyrnong City Council.
