Advocacy

Climate Emergency Australia works to highlight the impacts of climate change and what other tiers of government, such as Federal and state, can do.

This includes reducing their own emissions, providing supportive policy frameworks, and funding climate change mitigation and adaptation interventions.

Some examples of our advocacy work:

  • Submission to United Nations Human Rights Council on human rights and climate change (climate financing) (January 2026)
  • Time for Australia to declare: Letter to Minister Bowen (September 2023)
  • Submission to State and Federal Ministers on National Construction Code amendments (November 2021)
  • Submission to Federal Parliament on Zali Steggall's Climate Change Bill (November 2020)
  • Letter to the Prime Minister encouraging investment in a green recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic
    (October 2020)

We are also part of the Better Futures Australia Cities and Local Government Working Group.
