Climate Emergency Conference 2024
Councils and communities reclaiming the climate emergency
Friday 19 April, 2024
Victoria University, Footscray Park and online
2023 was the hottest year on earth in recorded history and we saw the increasing impacts of climate change around the world and here in Australia. The need for urgent action to reverse global warming has never been clearer.
Climate Emergency Australia in partnership with Maribyrnong City Council and supported by Victoria University hosted around 200 people in person at the Climate Emergency Conference 2024 in Melbourne and many more tuned in online from around the country. The conference aimed to reinvigorate climate action by councils and communities to reverse global warming and restore a safe climate.
It provided an opportunity for us to connect and reflect, share the lessons learned from more than six years of climate emergency response at the local government level, to re-focus our collective climate emergency action and talk about the next steps needed to restore a safe climate.
You can view the full program and catch up on the recordings and presentations from the online event on Day 2.
