Climate Emergency Australia: Executive nomination form 2025

Thank you for considering nominating for the Executive of Climate Emergency Australia!

The Executive is composed of four to six senior representatives (Councillors, CEOs, Directors or Senior Managers) from separate councils. Your council must be a current member of CEA in order eligible to be represented on the Executive, or you must hold individual membership. You or your council will need to become a member by the time of the AGM in order for you to be appointed. Executive members are sought with consideration of:

representation of the diversity of Australian councils
representation of gender and other dimensions of human diversity
representation of First Nations /Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and perspectives
the skills required for the effective steering of CEA, including strategic planning, advocacy, financial management, risk management and governance.

The Executive typically meets a minimum of five times during the approximately 12 months between one AGM and the next. Members are expected to attend as many meetings as possible and a minimum of three. Meetings are usually 1.5-2 hours and require approximately half an hour of preparation. Work may be taken on in between meetings at the discretion of the members.

Please also note that your responses may be shared with CEA members in the case that more nominations are received than places are available, as we will then hold an election at the CEA AGM.
