Kicking off our series of events celebrating the tenth anniversary of the first climate emergency declaration, we’ll hear from the people involved who brought about that first declaration. We’ll also hear their reflections on how the political landscape has changed, the difference declarations have made, why it’s still relevant for councils to declare in 2026, and strategies for communities and councillors to catalyse new declarations. 10th anniversary celebration and national conversation Wednesday 2 December - HYBRID EVENT This will be a conversation and celebration, reflecting on the past 10 years of achievement and learning, and looking ahead to the future. We’ll talk about where we are at, what’s changed and what comes next for councils responding to the climate emergency.
