10th anniversary celebration and national conversation

​This will be a conversation and celebration, reflecting on the past 10 years of achievement and learning, and looking ahead to the future. We’ll talk about where we are at, what’s changed and what comes next for councils responding to the climate emergency. We will gather in person in Melbourne, and tune in online in watch parties around the country, at work or at home, to participate in this national conversation.

Highlights of the day will include:
  • Taking stock of the climate emergency movement at local government level 
  • Reflecting on the last decade of action with stories from councils around Australia
  • Looking ahead to the next chapter for councils taking climate action
  • Spacious breaks for networking, brainstorming and celebrating.

Online Event
Everyone should register!

Don't fancy a whole day sitting at your computer watching other people talk? Don't worry, that's not what this is! This event has been designed as a hybrid event from the outset, including:
  • high-quality video and audio livestream so you can really see and hear what's going on
  • the option to join a local watch party so you can be with colleagues in your council or even your region to watch and discuss, with generous breaks built in for networking, brainstorming, celebrating, or just taking some time out to rest and reflect
  • recordings of every session so you can catch up later if you need to come and go.

Why EVERYONE should book an online ticket, even those who are attending in person:
  • Online tickets are FREE for everyone.
  • You can watch remotely from anywhere in the world via our YouTube livestream.
  • You will get all the updates and notifications including access to the recordings when they are uploaded.
  • If you book an in-person ticket but can't make it on the day (or need to be at home or in the office for part of the day), you can watch from the comfort of your own home or office - no need to buy an extra ticket or change your ticket type.

In-person Event
​Melbourne Polytechnic Collingwood

If you are within striking distance of Melbourne, join us at the Collingwood campus of Melbourne Polytechnic. It's recently been redeveloped, is Australia’s first all-electric TAFE campus and is located in a bustling, creative precinct. There will be a small number of theatre tickets available, where you will be part of the live audience in the broadcast hub, and there will also be plenty of tickets for multiple overflow spaces where you can gather with colleagues to watch and discuss the proceedings in a comfortable and relaxed setting with high quality video and audio of the livestream.

All attendees will have access to the networking and refreshments zone, adjacent to overflow areas and just a floor away from the broadcast hub.

There will also be:
  • quiet spaces where you can take a break
  • options for self-catering to reduce ticket costs as well as catered options and barista-quality coffee
  • time to celebrate and network over drinks and canapes at the end of the day.

The campus is universally accessible, including parking, lifts and entrances, and there are Auslan interpreters and hearing loops on site (please request these when you register if you have access needs).
